In the fictitious Latin American country of Eldorado, the idealistic and anarchist poet Paulo Martins lies near death, reflecting on the great struggle of his life; a conflict between the populist liberal governor and right wing conservative party leader. Torn between the madness of the elite and the blind submission of the masses, he finds nothing is truly as it seems as he begins to understand the true price an artist must pay for commitment to a cause.
